Sound

With the invention of the Phonograph in 1910 a whole new way of recording and sharing sound was made possible. The public were fascinated and amazed by this 'Talking Machine', some even going so far as to suggest magical forces were at work. The only problem, this groundbreaking technology was expensive, difficult to use and un-reliable. Fast forward almost a hundred years and the technology we use to share and listen to sound and music has become easier to use, smaller, cheaper and more reliable.

The result; people are more excited about listening than ever before and anyone with a mobile phone, computer, iPod or similar MP3 player has access to a huge range of audio content.

It's no surprise that sound has such a powerful effect on us. Hearing is the first sense we develop in the womb; the sound of our mothers heartbeat a constant rhythm as we prepare for life. We can hear long before we can see, our musical likes and dislikes forming even before birth, and, as we emerge and grow, we rely on hearing as our early warning sense, alerting us to danger before we see it. You can shut your eyes but not your ears.

We've spent years listening and we recognise you have too. That gives us a keen understanding of how sound can be used to not only communicate information and ideas, but to entertain as well. And with the right combination of voice, music and sound we can help you share your message with a constantly growing audience hungry to fill their new MP3 players with rich, well produced content.

Podcast use to double in the next two years

eMarketer says a number of factors are driving growth of the podcast user base:

Greater ease of consumption for podcast content
Growing awareness of podcasting
Terrestrial radio’s use and promotion of podcasting
Increased penetration of portable players
The evolution of smart phones and proliferation of affordable mobile data plans

I wonder if podcasts will even be called podcasts in two years time. (…)
